4-Head Cashew Nut Cutting Machine
| OUTTURN · Factory Direct from Binh Phuoc, Vietnam · Immediate Spare Parts Availability |
The OUTTURN 4-head cashew nut cutting machine is the most widely deployed configuration for small-to-medium cashew processors — delivering 120-200 kg of RCN throughput per hour from a compact footprint, a single 0.75 kW motor, and a straightforward operating cycle that one operator can manage independently. It processes the full range of commercially traded RCN origins and delivers consistent whole kernel rates that make it a genuine production machine, not a starter compromise.
With the ability to process up to 800 kg of RCN per shift, the 4-head covers the full throughput range of small processing operations and pairs cleanly with a single steam drum for synchronized batch processing. It is the most common first machine for processors transitioning from manual cutting and the standard entry point for new processing plant installations across West Africa, East Africa, and South Asia.

Who Is the 4-Head Cashew Cutter For?
The 4-head is the entry point for operations that need genuine production throughput at the lowest possible machine cost:
- Processors running 400–800 kg RCN per day in a single shift — one machine covers the full daily volume.
- New plant installations where cashew processing is being mechanised for the first time and capital is limited.
- Plants that process multiple origins across the season and need consistent WKR performance across varying shell hardness profiles.
- Operations expanding from a 2-head installation — the 4-head doubles throughput with the same operator, same power infrastructure, and same spare parts.
- Multi-machine plants where several 4-head units run in parallel to achieve higher total throughput with operational redundancy.
Design and Working Principle of 4-Head Cashew Cutting Machine
The OUTTURN 4-head cashew cutting machine uses a horizontal rotary cutting mechanism — the same core engineering that runs across the entire OUTTURN range from 2-head to 12-head. Each cutting head operates on a continuous rotary cycle: the nut is loaded into a cup, the cup rotates into the blade plane, the blade splits the shell at the seam, and the cut nut is discharged. The cycle repeats without interruption.
This rotary design delivers higher throughput per kW of motor power than reciprocating piston designs because the mechanism is continuously in motion rather than reversing direction on every stroke. The 0.75 kW (1 HP) three-phase motor that drives the machine remains the same regardless of head count — additional heads increase throughput by multiplying cutting stations, not by increasing motor power. This is why the OUTTURN range achieves exceptional energy efficiency per kilogram processed.
Blades are carbide-tipped for extended service life. Cups are designed for the size distribution of commercially traded RCN and are replaceable as standard maintenance items. All wetted surfaces are designed for CNSL resistance.
The 4-Head vs Larger Configurations: When to Scale Up
The 4-head is cost-optimal for throughput requirements below 1 TPD per shift. At 1–2 TPD, two 4-head machines running in parallel offer operational redundancy advantages over a single 8-head or 10-head. Above 2 TPD, the 8-head or 10-head configuration reduces operator count and floor space per kg processed. Contact OUTTURN to discuss the right configuration for your planned throughput.
